sTREEt art partners
We want to have a media company on board
Communication Directors can be your first point of contact.
You want to send an email with a simple query asking for involvement in Seattle sTREEt art campaign to get kids outside, to bring art teachers and science teachers together to help students create art and learn about flora and fauna.
Look at 10 companies and seek out their corporate communications person. Send them an email asking if they are involved in outdoor education and schools.
Seattle Times http://www.seattletimescompany.com/communication/leadershipcouncil.htm for instance.
KUOW http://kuow.org/
Starbucks http://news.starbucks.com/leadership/vivek-varma or find a fewhttp://news.starbucks.com/leadership Can we develop a sTREEt art campaign with Starbucks in their stores?
Boeing http://www.boeing.com/boeing/companyoffices/aboutus/execprofiles/downey.page
Amazon -- good way to learn who to ask is to skim research stories http://seattletimes.com/html/businesstechnology/2017883663_amazonmain25.html
Find 5 more media or corporate prospects through the Puget Sound Business Journal list of top businesses.
Also look for foundations like this one http://www.washingtoninteractivenetwork.org/organization/
that might be a source of funding for kids making videos about natural world they encounter.
Community outreach resources: Talk with Ann Tillery @ Pyramid Communications or John Hoyt and see if they have ideas on how to develop sTREEt Art Campaign for Seattle schools. See their clinet list as a prospect file http://www.pyramidcommunications.com/our-clients
Let them know you are working on a project based on ideas I have been pushing, and see if they have a recommended communications intern from Pyramid or corporation they work with that might be interested in funding, staffing and adding other resources.
(Think about approaching everyone you encounter for more than money. What other resources, enthusiasm, help can they bring to our campsite for art and science in schools teaching kids about nature in their back yard?) We can use writing help winnowing down our message for instance, and a media strategy to make the most of a small staff effort to engage people.
ALT funding: make your sTREEt art campaign go under an umbrella non profit so foundations can give money to get the project some resources as a 501c3
Bullitt Foundation
Kongsgaard Goldman
Seattle Foundation -- look for projects they fund like: http://www.seattlefoundation.org/npos/Pages/GotGreen.aspx
Talk with someone at Islandwood about our project, and see if there is room for them to help. Also look at their funders as potential prospects.
